I have an 890 controlling my xbox when I view photos. While navigating with the 4 direction flower I get repeats of the direction up to 3 times in any direction I pick. I have looked into trying to correct the problem. There is a part of the wizard that states you if you are getting repeating commands lower this number but I am already at 0 repeats (which is the minimum) Anyone else seen this and have a solution?

I am having a similar problem as you controlling the Scientific Atlanta 8300HD. All commands seem to work good except the directional pad and page up/page down. I get two actions per button press. I have a Slink-E which I am using to read the IR, and I am going to guess you are using the RF Extender to control the XBox360? So far it appears to me that the RF Extender does not changes its output when you change the repeats. For my 8300HD I get 5 commands sent for every keypress which ends up being 2 actions. One option if you are using the RF Extender is to use the IR from the Remote to control your XBox360. The Remote IR seems to work for me on the 8300HD. Another option is I will let you know when I find a solution to my problem and it will probably fix your problem. <:

Inter-key Delay. When a device receives an infrared command the device is considered"busy" while it processes the command. The amount of time required before the device will respond to another command is known as the inter-key delay, and normally ranges from zero to 300 milliseconds. Devices with long inter-key delays take longer to respond to multiple infrared commands (e.g., when changing television channels).

Fixed the problem for me....You can control this in the settings of your report for a particular device.

So... should I increase or decrease the inter-key delay. Sorry, I got all the background but I lost ya on what the solution was.

In this case you would increase it. Basically what the interkey time the remote waits until it sends another command. So for instance lets say the problem is when you press upon your keypad, you held it long enough that it sent two keypresses to the device because the interkey delay was very low. You can try it, but it did not help in my case. By the way, are you using the RF Extender on your XBox 360?

I think Logitech managed to fix my problem. They switched the directional keypad commands for my 8300HD from "Hold" behavior to "Press" behavior. Unfortunately this is not a setting you can do yourself. You have to call Logitech to get them to switch it. But if you don't have any luck with your delay timings to fix your problem, something else you can try.

yes, I have the rf extender. I will give that a try. Thanks!

You mean they switch out the actual buttons or the software settings? I assume the later, but how did they do it?

I tried increasing the Inter-key delays and that works for a while and then it start to queue up the directions. After a bit, I am getting repeating direction. I have no idea why the behavior would change after using it for a couple minutes. Maybe the buttons on the remote start to stick? I have no clue.

Ok, I think i found it... follow this:
1. Click on Devices on your home page and choose the appropriate Device.
2. Select Troubleshoot.
3. Select Show me more problems.
4. Then choose My Device doesn't appear to receive every command correctly.
5. Choose My Device responds too much to some commands. For example, volume up increases the volume too quickly.
6. Change the number of repeats to 1. The default is 3. Lower the number if the commands are repeating unnecessarily. Raise the number if the device does not respond to the commands.
7. Click Save.
8. Update your remote.

Mine was on 0. By setting it to 1... it worked. Apparently 0 is weird.

Hey, whatever works! The update Logitech did on mine was something you need to edit the XML directly to change. Unfortunately we can not change the XML, and I don't think we can get access in our accounts to change the XML. I asked <:

PS - That setting you modified is the same one you can get to just by selecting Troubleshoot->Device responds to some commands either too many times or only occasionally for that device. Mine didn't work on 1 or 0.
