This evening, NBCNN with BW is live in HD from the site of the Democratic debate. But the debate later this evening is on MSNBC which, I believe, is not carried in HD anywhere, or is it?

It is also airing locally on WKYC in Cleveland. Can someone watching them please check in and let us know if it's HD?

Whether or not they're producing the debate in HD, they might as well take HD equipment for NN. After all, we complain when networks don't produce enough HD content; bless NBC for keeping the only nightly news show in HD actually in HD when on location.

Speaking of, Andrea Mitchell's standup from inside the same room Brian Williams was in looked liked it was matted SD 16:9. Both Williams and Russert were in HD, but her PQ looked crappy.

MSNBC can't be carried anywhere as it does not exist.

I think, if I heard right from a couple of techs who did a basketball show I was on in that same building on Saturday, they were bringing an HD truck from which NN would originate standups. The Andrea Mitchell standup would have been from a completely different path (different unit, uplink, etc) that MSNBC used for cut-ins all day.

No, on WKYC it was the smae 4:3 version as MSBNC. It was the same feed with the MSNBC logo in the corner. The only difference was on WKYC the after-debate show with Olbermann and Matthews was replaced with an awful local show. The boring local anchor and political reporter did their own thing.

So they shot 90 minutes of it in HD, but nobody showed it in HD? Not even WKYC?

Maybe it'll be in HD on the Telemundo station in LA later tonight.

MSNBC-HD is coming in the near future. With CNN already there, I'd expect MSNBC and FOX:mad: to do the same to keep up. Plus, NBC's Today and Nightly News are already HD, so they want to build a library of HD video clips of election '08.
