So many of the surround speakers are huge (IMO) boxes with dimensions like 12HX8WX12D. Are you actually hanging these goliaths on your walls? Whatever happened to the small, diminuative, almost invisible surrounds?

I consider mine average 15 x 8.250 x 13 on 29inch stands.

Just an old Polk Monitor 7A speaker that I painted black. The 6" is active and the 10" is a passive radiator.

I just finished mounting my Dali concept 2's on the rear wall.15 pounds each.They are 10x8x16.

Since they dont have a wall mounting hole any where,I was looking for a way to mount them without drilling.I found these mounts at a local B&M.They clamp on to the speaker :)

Depends is you have a dedicated HT or a living room.

I have definitive technology bipolars on my rear wall. they are 22x11.5x7.75 and have the same mid/tweeter configuration as my mains (2 6.5's 1 above and 1 below the tweeter) They match the wall and got waf.

I used to use these as surrounds. JBL 4560 bins with LE-15Bs and JBL LE-175s on McCauley lenses. Wish I still had the lenses, they had a very wide pattern, 120 degrees, that made for a very spacious effect. And they looked really cool.

You won't believe what you are missing with the smaller invisible ones.

I've learned since my small speaker surround days that there is a lot of information in those channels that just surrounds you better when you get all of it. While a subwoofer can be used for the low ends, I still think having each surround support full range frequencies sounds much better. There can be a lot of base and treble in surround channels.

My surrounds are floorstanders, about 80% as large as my mains.

What deftechs are these. Were they factory white? I am looking for rears for my Boston Acoustics E100 fronts. On Deftech website the BPVX/P looks impressive but not available in white. Help me out.

They are the bpvx. The bpvxp has powered drivers so need an outlet near by. I got them used off audiogon, don't know if they are still available in white.

They sound like crap.
