I have an 890 and I am having trouble when I stick the RF Extender in the loop. I am trying to control a Scientific Atlanta 8300HD using the RF Extender so my wife doesn't have to worry about aiming the remote for 15 seconds while everything powers on (the TV takes a long time to warm up). The problem I am experiencing is the directional pad (and page up/page down) have two actions for every one button press. So when going through the guide, it jumps two channels everytime I press it once. These seem to be the only buttons having this problem. I have set the Repeats from the default of 2, down to 0 and still have the problem. I even had the problem when I used the IR Blaster on the RF Extender from the back of the room. The 890 itself controls it fine using the IR on it. What I have determined is the Repeats settings does not seem to have any effect on the RF Extender for this device. I have a Slink-E IR reader, and when the repeats was set to 2, the 890 sent the command 4 times. The RF Extender sent the command 5 times. When I set the repeats to 0, or 1 the RF Extender still sends the command 5 times. Has anyone else observed this type of behavior and come up with a fix? I am working with Logitech, but so far I don't have a fix. Currently they have changed the command from a "Hold" command to a "Press" command, which I don't expect to do fix the problem, but will try tonight. I have also tried learning the command in raw mode, and that did not help either.

Do you have the device set to a particular port on the RF base or set to "all"? If it is set to "all" then assign your device to the port with the emitter.

I have every device set to their own port. In this case I wouldn't think it should matter because when I am hitting the up/down I am only working with one device the 8300HD. So there should be no other devices' IR being broadcast at the time I am having the problem.

I was just thinking that it could be getting hit by the IR emitter as well as the IR flasher from the extender causing it to double up.

I have the extender itself behind the TV facing the wall. But I even have this problem if I just use the extender itself in the back of the room aimed at everything. Assigning the ports is a good idea, but I have already had it <:

Well good news, for me anyway. Logitech setting the directional keypad to "Press" mode instead of "Hold" mode seems to have done the trick. Of course that is a setting I can not do... I wonder how to make sure that stays in my account so I don't have to figure out what is going on 2 years from now when it stops working again <:

I know this is an old thread, but I am having the same problem. I go through the wizard and register the RF Extender and I pick the devices to control and pick a port, but I can't seem to get anything to be controlled by the extender. Is there any way to tell if the extender is working, but maybe I just have the little IR Emitters in the wrong spot? From what I can read, when the RF stuff should be working, the little RF light on the Extender should flash. It does not. I know that the handheld will work if I only have it configured, so I don't think that the problem is that my components are too old or cannot be controlled. Anyone have any ideas or troubleshooting tips beyond what was in the Logitech FAQ?
