How come everytime some stupid little device comes out that tries to compete with apple, they call it a "killer". I am so sick of that word!!! Ipod killer, iphone killer, macbook killer.. who came up with that? I want to hit him or her so bad. Stupid CNET even says macbook air killer!! YIPPIE!
USE A DIFFERENT WORD FOR YOUR PIECE OF CRAP DEVICES!!!!!!!!!
Okay I feel better,

mohanman,
I've owned and used Apple products since the days of the Apple II back in the 70s. During all this time the "pundits" have written over and over again about how Apple would be history any moment. Just goes to show what they know.
It's always upsetting to hear or read a review where the touted device is termed to be the thing that will drive the other off the market. But turn this approach around and what is it really saying - Apple is leader and this thing (whatever it is) is the wannabe.
But there's another side to this use of Killer label. It all seems to be part of the "we be bad" marketing mentality the run rampant in the technology industry. Look at the names given to video cards for another glaring example of this.

I agree but equally annoying is "I" this and "I" that.

So what you're looking for is a "killer" killer? The iKiller.
How about we replace "killer" with "wicked"? People might even come out with computers that are "wicked fast", that's never been done before!

Killer post man ;) Well the thing is Apple's products always get beat on the spec sheet. Spec sheets are the easiest thing to place side by side and compare. How many lazy-man reviews have you seen where that is pretty much the whole review? I bet many. The problem is when it comes to using a device specs are almost meaningless. The flip side of this is that spec sheet is also why Apple makes some very compelling products. While other companies use focus groups and have engineers building devices according to bullet points provided by their higher ups, Apple has them build devices they want to use.
