I'm looking for an universal remote for my father that doesn't require a PC to setup.

He will be controlling (2) TV's, a satellite box, receiver and dvd player.
Any suggestions?

MX-350 can be programmed without a computer, but to program it fully, you need a remote that is computer programmed to be able to teach it discretes for many systems.

That stinks - my father doesn't have a computer let alone how to use one.

Shouldn't be any reason why you couldn't program it for him on your PC ??

Sounds like an MX-500 would be perfect for your needs....built solid like a tank and completely rubberized on the outside (won't slip out of your hands..and won't break if it does). It's been out of production for a while but you can still find new ones for around $70-$80.

No, it's still in production and readily available. :D

Ahh..ok I see what you mean. I was looking under the "consumer" line on their website and not the professional. I know it has been around forever though...I've had mine over 3 years now.
