I can see that some of you are overwhelmed with the few new high definition camcorders but I’m sorry to say that I might have to make your choices even more difficult by posting this camcorder from Hitachi. Their first generation Blu-Ray camcorders had a lot of flaws but according to Watch.Impress, they fixed a lot of the problems with the release of their second generation camcorders.

i can't trust hitachi anymore. at the store i work at, i've seen over half of our hitachi camcorders sold either go out for service or come back because of problems. plus they only worked with Maxell dvds, i hope they've changed that.

I like the videos, but i'm afraid 15mps just doesn't make the cut. it does look nice though, much less noise artifacts than before. If it sold for 600$ it would be a good deal.
