 Hi guys im new to this so help me out, i need your expert advise. I want to remove my exsiting single manual dimmer and install a remote control dimmer in 3 rooms to control lights in those rooms, note all lights are low voltage (12 volt track lights, etc). I also want to remove 4 exsiting 3 way manual dimmers (2 stairway hallways with a dimmer at top and bottom of stairs) and install remote control dimmers. I have a logitic 890 remote (not the pro) and am not sure what i need to buy (levitton? what number? best price? where to buy online?, etc) and program to work with remote. I am in canada so not sure if stores even stock Vizia dimmers but if you have an online site i can order that will work for me. Let me know and thanks for any help you guys can post me.

use x10 devices that's what I use (14 modules) I have 3-ways, incadescent lighting and appliance modules and it works just fine with the RF 890. try http://www.aartech.ca/index.php/manufacturers_id/11/X10 the shipping is between 10$ (ontario & quebec) and 15$ (other provinces) I hope this can help you.
tiger,
Do you use the logitech with an X10 IR-543 IR console or something like that, or does it work directly with your X10 stuff via the logitech's RF? If it's the latter, that's a big deal. I didn't think any non X10 remote worked with X10 RF.

I use the extender included with the harmony 890 RF (not 890 pro) and it works allright. I'm just disapointed with x10 remotes so I found a way to bypass it. And no I will never turn my x10 modules to IR because the whole house lighting is RF and that's the way I want it. Logitech 890 is RF, 890 pro and 1000 with the extender (not included) should work as well. but all others model are IR only so you need to switch your x10 system to IR if you using one of them.

How are you getting RF to your X-10 system? If you mean the remote sends a signal and then the base station passes that to the lighting, that means that the lighitng is controlled with IR. The base station takes the RF signal form the handheld and then spits out IR to whatever its controlling. Something is taking the signal form your base station and getting it to the dimmers.

sorry I did'nt answer your post right.
I have A and B x10 zone the A zone is the living room and close to living room lighting an B is all the rest. my logitech control the A zone via 543 but I got those others x10 RF remotes all over the house for the B zone (white palm remotes). you're right so far no remotes control x10 directly beside x10 RF remotes. anyway when I watch tv theres only 4 x10 light that bugs me and I set these 4 on my harmony via IR but the rest is still RF.
That makes sense now. Thanks.
