Can anyone confirm that you can't get 480i output via component on the Samsung SIR-T451? I tried and no matter what I do I can't get 480i output at all.
Thanks.

View Full Version : Samsung SIR-T451, no 480i output via component, can anyone confirm? emuman100 02-28-08, 01:23 AM Can anyone confirm that you can't get 480i output via component on the Samsung SIR-T451? I tried this tonight and failed el gran chico 03-30-08, 10:15 PM Actually, I'm trying to connect a SIR-t451 to a standard television. The television has component video cables, so should I: a) keep component, and switch to 480p, 720p, or 1080i OR b) keep 480i, and change the connection to s-video? Thanks for any advice anyone can provide! jjeff 03-31-08, 04:37 PM I would if the Sammy won't output 480i over component you will need to use S-video, since a SD TV will only display 480i. Note if you had the Sammy 260 you'd be OK. I have mine hooked to a SD Sony TV via Component and the 260 does indeed output 480i over component. Just no OSD's:( pitweasel 08-21-09, 09:27 AM All right, I just stumbled across this thread, and thought I'd repost to see if there's any chance that someone can offer new information. In the manual for the SIR-T451, the section describing the component output says "this output port supports...SD and HD output", and the section describing the different available resolutions lists, under 480i, "use this setting for a conventional TV with regular video, s-video, or component video inputs". (bold added for emphasis) So...am I just completely misinterpreting the manual? It sure sounds to me like I should be able to use this on my SD TV via the component cables - has anyone done this successfully? |
