Hey me too, Warwick. The single player is much better than the original demo. I only go to play a few matches online, and messed around in a closed game to get a feel for the copters and jets, since you can almost never get to one before someone else online. The maps are huge and there's a ton of vehicles. I'm really liking it, other than a few connection issues.

Can anyone compare it to COD4? I'm thinking about picking this up.

i've got it, GT: FormulaN3RD, MTN time

play off and on, at many different times on sun, mon, tue

and as for COD4 comparisons, think of it like COD4 with maps about 10 times the size or larger, no create a class, less weapons, awesome vehicles... if you've ever played battlefield its more along those lines.

It's pretty much the opposite of COD4 as far as a shooter goes. If you want to make a comparison, it's much closer to a Battlefield game than a COD game.

So now that folks have had some time with this.. how is the Single Player?

How big is the campaign?

How are the controls?

Acheivments?

Framerate?

It looks great.. that's for sure!

I just picked this up today. I thought the demo was interesting and am hoping it carries over even more to the actual game. I should be giving it a run through starting this weekend. I am EST.

Online has steadily been improving. People online are finally starting to get into squads and work together.

I hope so. I tried to play yesterday and it was either laggy or zero teamwork.

Man o' man... it is SO much better since they fixed the "server no longer exsists" issue.
It is true about squading up and using coms though. I got together with a group of 4 yesterday and we owned the entire team of lonewolfs. Insane!

wierd thing is, when i first got on, no "server no longer exists" problems, but the lag was unbearable....then it started the "server no longer exists".
it's not my router or anything because my other games, the ps3, etc. hook up fine. starting to think i just may have a game that i cant connect to.
if it doesnt get fixed for me, i will trade it in for r6v2.
it's a shame, this game could be GREAT.

The update patch came through on Thursday and fixed the connectivity issues for me. I do however have to deal with bad lag occasionally. Hopefully they can straighten things out before everyone jumps ship, because it is a pretty unique experience on a console.

I have been playing the demo and thought it was fun so I picked it up this past Friday with my Army of Two pre-order that came in. I went to play it when I first got it home and my brother called me cuz he picked up Army of Two as well. So I popped in Army of Two and it hasn't came out since. :D

picked it up earlier today. Love this game despite its flaws. Tonight, the RSA burns!
edit: everybody is pumped over at xbox.com about the patch. Seems like they fixed a bunch of the problems. Just look at what this guy wrote over there:
I was in a game earlier and had the most intense FFOW game ever. I was a squad leader and another SL was in the chopper. I called out targets to him and it was AWESOME! heck, even one of my squadmates got in his chopper so we both could talk to him.

There was a huge battle over the comm station with a noticable lack of spawn camping with the turrets.

Great job on the patch KAOS!!!!

ditto! Gonna pick up a used copy. LOL I need to start trusting my instincts more. I've sold and then re-purchased: GoW, GRAW2, and Shadowrun recently. Lesson: if I buy a game, just keep the damn thing haha.

had great fun with this game last night. 50 person epic hour long battle at the solar dish level. Vehicles exploding, cluster bombs on enemy forces, and jets dropping bombs from high altitudes. We had it all. The best part was when I snuck behind enemy lines, called in a massive airstrike against the enemy airfield and wound up knocking a chopper right out of the air with the bomb!
Oh and I wound up getting it for 20 bucks. I traded in Command and conquer for 9, table tennis for like 5 and got 10 bucks in free credit because of some deal they had (gamestop). Then I have this special card that gives me 5 bucks off any used game over 15 bucks. Rang up to 20, so I'm uber pleased with this buy. New maps soon too!

50 players on Solar Farm? That must have been good. I've been playing the game on and off since it came out. Right now I'm going through MGS4 but I will get into Frontlines when I finish.

Will this game survive after the new Battlefield comes out? It's already on life support due to low sales. If Battlefield comes out and sells 2 million copies, it will no doubt steal plenty of Frontlines' players. I'm wondering because I always wanted to pick up Frontlines (I actually did a trade for it, but never got it) and the price must be coming down.

I guess this gets to the "game of the month" problem of online shooters. The player base is moving around unless it's a huge hit like COD4 and Halo3.

I don't think there's any doubt that battlefield will cut into their sales and fanbase. It doesn't concern me as I got the game fairly cheap. I enjoy the game and this will serve as a stopgap until the next tier of this style of game is released (next year?). Keep in mind that frontlines supports more players than battlefield, but battlefield looks a little more polished, certainly with the one player campaign

There is a HUGE front lines following. The developers are supporting this game like no other. THey are constantly working to make it play better by tweaking the MP gameplay, adding new modes, and maps, etc.

No matter the time of day, there are always a lot playing online. Most people I know who love this game didn't like the Bad company demo much, so I don't think the true Front Lines fans will be leaving to play Bad Company.

I saw the game used for around $20 (better deal somewhere else?). Maybe I will pick it up, I did like the demo and the fans have good things to say about it. I like the larger games, like Warhawk, but I want something first person and more realistic.

I don't see why people don't like this game. I mean, it does have issues, but the SP, and MP, are insane. This is by far onbe of the best SP games for me, in regards to it's ability to completely consume me, with it's great sound (surround), and game style.
