thinking about trying this out
but before hand maybe some of you already have expereince with it and can save me some time.

I'm wondering if I'll be able to stream over wired 100Mb LAN files such as
720P, 1080P h.264 .mkv files with DD/DTS audio
also 1080i .ts files
what about handling subtitles?

Thanks!!

I don't know about the capabilities of tversity but i've tried it twice and ended up uninstalling it both times. I CANNOT stand the interface to set everything up. Why can't I just point it to a directory and have it catalog everything automatically? Why doesn't it save the directory structure when presenting to the xbox? I don't want all my files just shown as one big list, I put them in directories for a reason.

If you are running on a windows box and don't need to transcode anything then just use Windows media player 11 to do the sharing.

Not sure when was it that you last tried it, but it actually does all those things you said and more.

What advantage does TVersity or Orb have over just using the media player that comes with the Xbox 360?

For version 0.9.11.4 (lastest version as I type this):

Settings > Media Sharing > Media Library Menus >

1. Default
2. File System
3. Custom

Not much really. I lost media player sharing (still haven't figured out how with all the googling in the world) and only got it back by installing Orb. I installed TVersity just for the heck of it too. Now Microsoft Media Share, Orb and TVersity appear as options on my Xbox 360 and PS3.

With certain formats, they all have strengths and weaknesses. Overall with the Xbox 360, Media Share works just fine.

I finally ended up uninstalling TVerisity...reason why? I connected my computer to my TV...anyway, Its not a bad program, i used it to play AVI files on my 360 since the 360 only like WMV...anyway, the only probably i had was minor connectivity, as in i would have to reboot my computer or restart the program while the 360 was on so it would connect.

Its not a bad program and is worth the try....
