if any of you have this projector
and can i hook like dvd players or
computres or
cable into this projector?

is this projector HD
and how old is it?

is it a good deal just to be used maybe 3 hours a week?
is it hard to setup?

CRT's can be difficult to set up, but if you are the kind that likes to tinker with stuff and create a very nice end result then that projector might be a good starting point. It's capable of displaying 720p by itself and with a little help it can do full 1080i high def. There are many of us that use projectors from the same sony lineup and have great home theaters. you will want to read the info available on Curt Palme's website:

The first thing to consider is how far away is it, and ask if they have any pictures of the tube faces so you can see if it has decent tubes in it.

if the tubes are good then I would certainly buy it for 100. if it needs tubes then you might want to wait for a nicer one. I paid 150. cash for a very nice 1272 with tubes that are about 8 on a scale of ten. The other day I found a 1271 for about 30.00 in trading stock that has tubes around 5 out of ten. It's much nicer to start with a machine that is in good shape first, because the project turns out so much nicer. Do a lot of reading first.

The machine does look to be in good shape. If it has low-ish hours and decent CRTs then it is worth it. To do HD, you will need and RGBHV->VGA breakout cable, and a source device(computer or xbox/ps3) that can output an HD signal. I own a 1270 myself, and 1080i is the best resolution for it. 720p is just a bit too much imo, it looks soft(out of focus). They do take a bit of work to get setup initially, but once they are there is minimal work involved in keeping them running. If you are going to ceiling mount it, you will likely need a remote which is not included in the auction. It is probably easier for a beginner like you to just keep it on the floor for now anyways. There are some wires you have to switch around to flip from ceiling to floor mode.

Also, if you haven't found this yet:

take of the blue lens, left side when looking from front. If you don't see any logo's burned into it and the projector powers up then it's easilly worth 100 bucks. Hook it up to a hi-def player and HDfury converter at 1080i hi-def and you will be very impressed.

A great buy at a $100!! Pick it up!! You won't be sorry.

You can sell the tubes for more than that
