not sure where to post this or is there a thread going on Directv Beta ondemand/pc networking. The networking of the the new HDDVR is way cool. Its nice to be able to stream music/pictures/videos from my pc. to my DVR and play it my surround system. :D

how do you set things up to stream on the network with xp.

Easy way is to download TVersity. Use that program as your media server. I actually stream media to both my HR20-700 and my PS3 this way.

Im just using windows media 11 and it pop up asking if I want do alow sharing with my DVR (unknow device). But it looks like it sees any audio files, pictures, and videos automaticly on any computers that are hook up to the network.

You need a server app running to feed it media, there are a number of them out there, any PC you are seeing on your network from your DVR is running an app of some kind.

I like Tversity also, it can transcode a number of formats not normally supported by the HR20/21 and best of all it's free.
