A little background:

I currently have a wall-mounted Panasonic TH-42PWD8UK with an HDMI blade. I love it! Even after 3 years, I'm impressed with the picture quality.

Seating distance is about 9'. At that distance, the 42 is a little small.

I've decided to upgrade to 50"+ and at those sizes, the DLP and RP sets tend to become the better deal.

I'm looking to upgrade to a 50-65" set.

My requirements:
+ 1080P
+ 18" or less physical depth

I will be doing:
+ 25% HD (720p/1080i) Cable viewing
+ 25% DVD & maybe Blu-Ray viewing
+ 50% XBOX360

My budget is $1500, though I wouldn't mind going over a tiny bit.

I'm really after the best picture quality, but viewing angle is a concern I have as well. Please chime in with your thoughts, models you may have owned that you think would fit the bill here.

Thanks!
