Hello,
the past few months or so I've noticed our set exhibiting a behavior I didn't notice before. While watching the screen, I notice a small ripple or wave move across the screen. It seems to move across the entire screen, originating on the left and moving off screen to the right. It's mostly noticable only when watching a static, contrasty display (such as a set top box menu). It seems to occur randomly, but lately it's been occuring more frequently (perhaps 3 or 4 times over the course of an hour).
At first I thought this was an artifact of Directv, as I did a Google search and another person had this problem and thought it was due to his satellite equipment. (He never did receive a reply to his query). However, the other night I was watching a movie and noticed the same ripple (I was able to pick it out since my eyes at that moment were focused on a calendar that was in the background).
It seems to occur regardless of input (it happens with both HDMI and S video inputs). The set is a Samsung HL-S5086W DLP and is about a a year and a half old.
Has anybody else experienced this issue? What is (was) the cause and how is it resolved? Thank you,
Craig
