My apologies if the answer to my question lies in another thread, but I performed several searches and couldn't find info related to my issue.

I find the SD card reader on my LG V194H DVD/VCR player intriguing. After playing around with Super © (wanted to post the url, but guess I can't until I have more posts; if unfamilar google up "super encoder"). I've been able to convert several little movie snipets to a XviD format (i.e. DivX), slide them onto a 2GB SD card, and then play them on my LG. Great for downloading TV shows off iTunes and watching them in the comfort of my living room!

One issue that I've run into though: Often times the ratio appears to somewhat funky. Comparing a movie file on my computer to the one on my TV, I can see that the LG appears to be cropping to a 4:3 aspect ratio. I've tried to use Super © to force my converted file to a 4:3 ratio, but the LG crops the picture EXACTLY the same. I can even have several different versions of the same clip on my SD card with different ratios, but when I skip between them, they are cropped to the exact same size. The clips are cropped approx. 1/10 off each side.

The program also offers to convert several video scales (i.e. 320:240, 640:480) and I've tried a couple of them but they didn't seem to get rid of the cropping either.

Does anyone know which ratio or scale settings I should be using to avoid croppage? Or maybe an explanation of maybe why the various combinations of scales and ratios change the appearance of the clips on my computer, but not when I skip between them on my LG?
