This is a simple question: Does the version of Sony's Picture Motion Browser that comes with the HDR-HC9, have the ability to upload a straight run of HDV footage from the camera or a Sony HDV VCR over FireWire? I have Win XP Home and a 2.2 GHz Athlon CPU and 500MB Ram. I have a set of VCRs to do most of my editing, so most of my uploading into the computer will be either from edited tapes or raw footage to be stored on an external drive for backup. However, I probably will edit some special things on a computer, with an editing program to be selected later. I have a Ulead editing program for DV, so I might get their 11+ upgrade. Is it going to do a good job with HDV? I'll probably be getting a standalone Blu-Ray DVD recorder later. A newer, faster computer may be necessary, but I hope to put this off for awhile.
Would HDV-Split be suitable for uploading straight, unsegmented runs of HDV footage like this? Can it be set not to divide footage into separate scene files? Thanks for any suggestions.
