Basic newbie Internet to HDTV question. I have a DISH Network DVR to HDTV setup, I have TimeWarner high speed cable Internet and wireless throughout my house. Is there any reason I should hook up my Internet to my DVR from DISH? What will I gain?

Which model DVR do you have? I know on the 722 it allows the receiver to phone home over the Internet, gives you access to Video On Demand and allows you to see other DVR's (I believe to transfer programming between them) if you network them all.

Thanks Matt. Yep I realize the question is a bit generic but actually I meant it that way. I mean other than what you have said, I what else are the benefits? Say, can you download movies or is there another movie source, can you hook a laptop to it and use it that way, just things like that.
