I took home a Denon 2930 tonight (demo unit) and hooked it up. The 2 channel music was excellent something I thought lacked in my system and it's way better than my ps3. Video quality was pretty close to the ps3, I only watched the opening scenes on Transformers and Saving Private Ryan.
I also listend to the Pio elite 58 in a hometheater room at a store and it was great with all their amps etc. These guys are a little sticky though with the buy it and I don't it return it thing. The Denon 2930 is demo unit and it would be $50 more than the brand spankin new Elite. Any thoughts on these two or how they look on paper.
Thanks
Jason

I would go for the Denon 2930CI personally. I have never really liked Pioneer DVD players. The Denon has progressive scan featuring Realta REON VX-50 HQV™ by Teranex which is one of the best out there. I'm not sure what the Pioneer uses.

Becareful with demo units. You have to think about how long the unit has been running. I know you'll get a full manufacturers warranty and everything but still it would suck if it breaks 2 months into owning it. See if you can get a brand new unit or see if they will give you an extended warranty at a 'deep discount'.
