I'm from Baton Rouge also, just trying to see how many guys are from Louisiana on here, so maybe we can have meets or maybe help each other on builds so we can gain first hand experience to do our own.

Commerce, MI, about 30 miles NW of Detroit.

We lived in Baton Rouge for many years, then Metairie for a bit when I relocated to NOLA, and finally in Mandeville. We liked it there. But after the storm, things were very different, and my job was moving out of state - first temporarily, and then permanently. Since I was being forced to move out of the NOLA area, I figured I might as well do it on my own terms, and found myself a new job in Michigan.

Now when I hear the song "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans" I can honestly say I do.

Ironically, we moved into the watershed for the Rouge River. When we were thinking of what to name our theater, we wanted something that might tie our past to our present. We already are planning a Mardi Gras / Bourbon Street Bar for the basement, so we didn't want another NO style room (as cool as that might have been). So we thought about coming from Baton Rouge to the River Rouge, and settled on The Rouge Theater.
