I have the box setup to pass through.

View Full Version : does anyone have hdmi working with SA 8300HDC? liquidmetal 03-04-08, 04:18 PM I have the box setup to pass through. HDMI gives me video hangs and audio drop outs. FW must be fixed for that. Dan Meador 03-08-08, 02:33 AM By the way, finally recorded sarah conor chronicles without splitting the show up into segments for the first time last night. Are you connecting the SA8300HDC to your TV using HDMI or component? Last time I recorded Fox (Sarah Connor and House) using component, it was still split. It's been a few weeks though, so it may have been fixed since then. How long ago were you getting split recordings? EDIT: What I mean is that when you recorded SCC without it being split, was it through HDMI or component? kpalazzo 03-29-08, 01:03 PM On my second 8300HDC...... The first would as previously posted drop the audio, pixelated and hang while using the HDMI. After a bit of troubleshooting..... differenet tv's, HDMI cables, determined it was indeed the box. Picked up a second yesterday and this one won't even consistently diplay an image via HDMI. Component cables (of course) work fine. The TWC rep. advised me that these boxes are sensitive to weak coax signal strengths. So, in my troubleshooting of the second box I switched the coax feeds from another DVR, (8300HD, which works like a champ!) and, of course didnt work. When I exchanged boxes the customer service folks offered to schedule a service call..... All of my AV components are located in a central media closet. Containing 3 DVR's, 2 DVD players, Wii, HTPC, IR relays, etc. Which I wired and built myself and works quite flawlessly, aside from this stupid box. |
