Thanks DTV TiVo Dealer 03-05-08, 09:07 AM Great unit if you have DIRECTV service. The list price is $199. -Robert QZ1 03-05-08, 12:57 PM TiVo HD DVR @ $179.99 + $5 ship @ woot.com TODAY only is this really a good deal?? whats pros/cons of this unit? Well, it is refurbished. It is generally well-liked; there has been plenty of discussion on this DVR in the 'Tivo HD is here!' thread in this section of AVS. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=879469 Great unit if you have DIRECTV service. The list price is $199. The Tivo HD does not support satellite; it supports Cable and Antenna, both in Digital and Analog. b_scott 03-05-08, 05:07 PM got one! locomo 03-05-08, 09:27 PM Can you do manual recordings if you don't subscribe ? DTV TiVo Dealer 03-05-08, 10:23 PM locomo ^^ Sorry to say no. -Robert bugmenot55 03-06-08, 01:48 AM Good deal, compared to what I paid for my DHG-HDD250, but only thing I don't like about Tivo is the monthy fee, is there a HD DVR i can buy today that doesn't require a monthy fee to use. I mean I never had to pay a monthy fee to use my VCR and DVD recorder so I'm not about to now just to record in HD bfdtv 03-06-08, 02:48 AM Good deal, compared to what I paid for my DHG-HDD250, but only thing I don't like about Tivo is the monthy fee, is there a HD DVR i can buy today that doesn't require a monthy fee to use. If you don't have a TiVo lying around, then the fee-less version will cost you $699 (http://www3.tivo.com/tivo-promo/show.do?pg=/buytivo/hdgift.html), although that price does include the 802.11g wireless adapter. If you are only using OTA, then the Echostar TR-50 HDTV DVR (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=972197) coming in July would be another option. That DVR should cost less than $500. toasty22 03-08-08, 03:01 AM i may have jumped the gun and bought this.. damn, what are other CURRENT options? under $300 that i should think about? toasty22 03-08-08, 03:28 AM http://www.topplebush.com/humor/Cheney_and_Bush_Borg.jpg We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. The list price is $199. -Robert Tivo HD has nothing to do with DIRECTV. It's OTA and cable only. List price for a refurb is $249 on the Tivo site ($299 for a new unit). bfdtv 03-08-08, 12:38 PM i may have jumped the gun and bought this.. damn, what are other CURRENT options? under $300 that i should think about? There aren't any other options under $400 if you want HD. There are no other [non-PC] options period if you want to watch one channel while recording another, or record two channels simultaneously. But as I noted, the Sling TR-50 will be another option for OTA when it is released in 4-5 months. b_scott 03-12-08, 11:14 AM shipped the 10th, in tomorrow. Chicago. |
