Ok I would like to send Hi def to a TV and be able to switch it to a front projector the signal will be to one or the other not at the same time. The screen covers the tv when the projector is in use, and the tv is so I dont waste the bulb to watch the news or a show and dont want to darken the room. Right now I have all my sources coming to a source switcher and then one hdmi to the tv, the sound only moves to the reciver and the reciver always stays on movie mode. So far that has worked good the source switcher sends one signal to tv and one signal to the reciver for sound from five different sources. Ok now I would like to be able to send the video to either the projector or tv but not have to pull and hdmi physically everytime. I want to hit movie on the remote and the projector turns on the screen comes down and the sound was allready set to come out of the reciver, then hit tv and the projo turns off, screen rolls up. Tv will come on and again sound always comes out. I would like to use HDMI all around. I checked out monoprice and the HDMI splitters get mixed reviews, I would like to hear from ht people here what has worked for them. I know I cant be the only one who wants this.

I send a DVI signal simultaneously to a projector and an LCD in an adjacent room. I use a Dtrovision 1:2 distribution amplifier.

I Have a Directv hr21, Oppo DVD, Sony OTA HDR all hooked up to a Geffin 4:1 switcher then on to the distribution amp. At the time a 4:2 unit wasn't on the market.

It took a little fiddling with the dip switches on the Dtrovision to make the DirecTV unit happy but it is.
