View Full Version : Best Blu ray to test out hc5000bl?

I know that the hc5000 is old news and the 6000 is the new talk but I just got a killer deal on a barely used unit, only 30hrs. I'm coming from an hd1000u using my ps3 as my bd source via hdmi. On that unit IMHO lord of war or xmen 3 were the best bd to watch. What are your suggestions to not only properly calibrate this unit but for me to really impress me and the old bird, need to justify the purchase. I'm projecting in full batcave fashion at 130" on a DIY brilliant white screen. Also are there any forums listing folks' gamma color etc settings? Thanks in advance. Cheers to 1080p finally becoming more affordable.

Really you have to go by what you know. Seeing a movie for the first time based on someone elses recommendation will not necessarily tell you how to adjust your unit. I would get out some older movies that you used on your 1000 and that way you can compare.
