I want to mount my Panny on a wall, but I see no exposed screw holes to accept mounting hardware. There are four round plastic caps that look like they can be pried off. Are there mounting holes behind these caps? The manual doesn't mention it and I don't want to just start prying at things back there.

Yep, the mounting holes are behind those caps. Just take a small flat blade screw driver and pry them off.

If you get a Peerless wall mount, it comes with all different sizes of bolts for different manufacturers.

Thanks - that's what I figured. I have a Telehook mount from a company called Atdec. It was free (after a mail-in rebate). I have to look through the box and see what it has for mounting hardware. Will the screws that currently hold the standard base to the TV work if used for wall mounting as well?

Definately not.

I'm looking up the size bolt you will need for the back of the TV right now. Just hang on a minute... I'll edit this post when I find it.

EDIT: OK... got it. Looks like all Panasonic's use an M8-40 bolt. You should be able to pick these up cheap at Home Depot/Lowes/etc. These will attach the TV to the mount, and then the mount should come with bolts to hang it to the wall. Good luck!

I see amazon is a place to buy these mounts....where did you obtain a mail-in-rebate?

I bought the mount about 6 months ago and have had it sitting. I figured for free, why not?:D I originally was going to use it in my bedroom to hang my 32" Samsung LCD.

Will do. Quick question - I know the M8 refers to diameter; does the 40 indicate length?

Yes. It's metric... so 40mm I believe.

I got my Panny 50PZ77U last week and just went to wallmart and they had a good wall mount for 135.00. Works great, and had all the screws and hardware needed.

I was at Sams Yesterday to get another flat panel TV and they had a better one there for a little less. Wallmart also has table/stands that hold a 50 inch plasma up high and swivels. I got one for the 42" Philips and really like it. It is made for up to a 50" and runs 200.00.
