Here are a few different procedures to look at regarding Glycol cleaning, fungus removal , and colouring .

The HD8 color filtered lenses were a feature of some Runcos, I think. All HD8s are color corrected. You have the (rare) filtered HD8s with Red, Green, and Silver stickers?

Most all lens's that we use are color corrected.
That shouldn't be confused with color filtered in which case if you look into the red and green lens's they will have a red and green color to them.
I have never seen HD-8's that are color filtered.

Latest Cine8 have color filtered HD8 lenses.

I'd use clear glycol for flushing. Those 0.5 liter bottles have about 0.1 for flushing.

OK, there's an easy solution to this. Follow these steps carefully:

1) Put your old lenses back on.
2) Put the color-filtererd HD-8s in a box with appropriate padding.
3) Ship the box to me.

You'll find you have no more trouble with your lenses. Please contact me directly for the address. :D

Just out of curiosity, if you've already got tinted glycol, why switch to filtered lenses? Are filtered (air-coupled) lenses inherently better quality than tinted glycol?

This works quite well.

This works quite well.

You'll definitely have to redo the convergence, though. Maybe even the scheimpflug...

If you are going to go through with changing the lenses and glycol then save the coloured glycol as it is hard/impossible to come by and someone else may want to buy it from you (assuming there is nothing wrong with it).

Hi Guys,
I change to the new lenses because the colored are tintey clear glycol, using printer ink, and have to said that is difficult to have the same ammount of tinting (ie exact the original) at least for my with only one claer glycol to experiment.
However if you have enought glycol for try, can dial in, just is a trial and error process.
My tinted glycol are almost good but have the oportunity to buy the lenses cheap.:D
