im a newbie trying to find out the best setup for my system to optimize performance. i have a nad series 20 preamp 1020, a bk st1400 series II, psb stratus minis and a hsu vtf 2 sub; i know that most forum members here are very knowledgeable in terms of 2 channel setups. im also planning to connect aci high pass filters for my monitors; any opinions? pros and cons? will they add coloration?reduce output? degrade sound?
thanks in advance
vince

Can't help you with the setup or your specific stuff. But I bet you'll love the original VTF-2. Mines going strong for 4 years now and doesn't miss a beat. Enjoy

Hi Vince. I'm using very similar in-line high-pass filters (f-mods) in part of my setup. No problems whatsoever. If you have doubts about the filters, contact Mike Dzurko from ACI. He is a very straight shooter and will tell it like it is.

I also use f-mods. I got them over the ACI ones because they have a steeper slope (2nd order). I didn't notice any coloration or decrease in sound quality.

I got mine here. (http://store.hlabs.com/pk4/store.pl?view_product=10) You select the HP frequency. I'd probably go for the 70Hz cutoff.

When you say the line level in/out sounded weak, do you mean the sub or your mains?

my mains; it seems like my amp is receiving a weak signal
