Ok. I have a Pioneer 6070 Plasma and am subrscribed to DISH. I have the ViP622 DVR hooked to my TV via a HDMI cable. Have had this same setup for well over a year, haven't touched a thing, and never had a problem until about a month ago. Now some of the HD channels come in like they are zoomed. They are in HD, just zoomed in so the edges are cut off. TLC for instance is zoomed so you can only see the T in the TLC logo. Most of the HD channels are that way with the exception of a few local HD channels which are normal like they should be. I don't know what is going on because it is all being bradcast in HD like it should with great picture quality, just some channels are zoomed and others are not. I have tried the different screen sizes with the remote and none of it makes a difference, so I have it set to FULL like I normally do. Thanks for any help you can give!

Actually, it should be set to "normal" not full (unless you are using TV2) with the Dish remote. Someone pressed the "*" key on your Dish remote most likely. This is the format button. It goes between zoom, stretch, expand, partial zoom and gray bar. Someone might have used the picture format of your Pioneer as well. TLC, Discovery (not Discovery Theater), Animal Planet and Science often zoom SD content rather than *gasp* display black bars. A&E, History, TBS and TNT often employ stretch-o-vision. If your Voom channels (e.g., Rave, Kung Fu, Monsters, Gallery, etc.) are zoomed, then it's either your TV or your Dish receiver settings.

Hi Jimmy8. Quite a few of the Dish channels use the stretch format to fill the screen up, even when they are transmitting a SD picture. I see several of them doing it and it's not what you are doing. I have a dish 411 and the true HD pix come in fine. I get my local stations HD with an OTA piped through the 411. Regards

Thanks allargon. All fixed. It was the * button on the DISH remote. I didn't know that button existed. I just thought you could adjust the screen size on the Pioneer remote, didn't know you could do it on the Dish remote as well.
