I've had the sub for awhile and I don't think it was new when I got it. Although I didn't know it was kind of a weak sub before I bought it I can afford something a little better. This sub isn't bad but it's not great. It's not punchy and it certainly gets muddled. I'd like to spend around $400 or so for a new one.

One I'm looking at is the AcousTech H-100 from what I've been reading on these forums and a second I'm looking at is maybe the Klipsch KSW12 or KSW10 but I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell a difference from those two.

What do you guys think or do you have any other recommendations?

The acoustech is a better sub than the klipsch. It was actually designed with HSU research. It has decent output in the mid 20Hz and has good sound quality. I also like the look of it a lot better than the klipsch.

That must be saying alot since I heard the Klipsch and they were pretty darn good. Though I have klipsch computer speakers and the sub on that are dual 6.5" and lemme tell you it does good.

One more sub I just caught my eye with free shipping is the Elemental Design A2 - 300 and the A3 - 300. One is ~75 lbs the other is 100lbs.

What do you think about this compared to the BIC H-100?

p.s. I'm thinking to myself, how am I supposed to get that up a set of stairs lol.

Both are those are a major step up in performance and quality over the Bic. When you get up into the companies like ED, HSU, SVS and Epik, their really is no comparison to the bic, they outclass it in every way as they should given the price difference. The Bic H-100 is the best performer imo at the $200 budget but doesn't compare to these, except maybe looks.

If you budget will allow then the A3-300 would be the way to go with the A2-300 right behind it. One note on ED also is they build their subs after you order and they are backed up right now, last I heard wait times were around 8 weeks, so if you need it now you'll want to look past them. Other great choice at this price range are the HSU STF-2 and SVS PB-10. Excellent sub and looks better imo plus it's available now.

Wait time is not a big concern. I can wait. If they are worth the wait then I think they may be the best to go with. I'm more than sure it'll be a major major improvement over my Yamaha YST-SW315.
