I've got an old sony wega 27" right now, but found this panasonic CT-30WC14 for sale used for $350. Would it be a worthwhile upgrade from my sony or should I just save up and get an lcd in my budget of $500-$800.

It looks like that set was a watered down version of Panasonic's normally high quality CRT lines. It was made for WalMart and not considered a part of their regular product series. No digital tuner either. It might have OK picture quality, but I personally wouldn't pay more than $200 or so.

Thats what I was wanting to know. I would like to upgrade but have a small budget. I didn't know if this would be much of an improvement over what I have or if it would be better to just wait save some pennies and try and get a samsung or similar lcd a little later down the road. Would there be a problem in that this panisonic does not handle 720p? I currently have an a dvd player that will do progressive scan 480p and a toshiba dr5 player/recorder that will upconvert to 1080i.
