For $800, you're best choice is the MFW-15 for $599 + $100 shipping. It ranked really really high on Craig's list. But the catch is that it is backordered, so you have to wait 2 months to get it.

I just ordered a VTF-2 Mk3, and I'm expecting to be blown away. However, my room's really small so I don't necessarily need something as powerful as the MFW-15, which I was considering before. I just couldn't stand to wait that long either.

I would check out the Epik Caliber before you make a final decision. $699 + Shipping ($75-100) depending on where you live in the U.S.

Epik, Hsu, SVS, Elemental Designs and AV123 should all be on your list of subs for consideration ... all 5 make excellent products, and depending on your exact needs, one should have the sub for you. :)

Have you already checked out the manufacturers listed above? Didn't like what you saw or what? Craigsub already listed the best ones to look at.

My best sub in the 500-800 range was an HSU, but that's probably because it's the only sub I've bought in the 500-800 range :D

+2, I have the gain turned about about 15% in my roughly 21 x 15 ft room and I can't believe how good this thing sounds. I recently purchased the turbo attachment then realized that I didn't need it. The 3.3 is an incredible sub, equally good for HT and Music.

I don't mind the wait...my Velodyne works, it just craps out on ultra LFE...I just have to turn it down. I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

I ordered my Outlaw LFM-1EX and I had it in a week! Great sub, great price, very similar in performance to the VTF-3 Hsu series, since Hsu helped design them!

I walked in HSU and walked out 15 minutes later with a VTF 2/3. I had to wait 15 minutes becuase they had to get it from the other warehouse.:p

AV123, ED and Epik are providing better performing subs at lower prices than other manufacturers right now. They couldn't have expected the flood of orders they've received the past 4 months as they've brought their new products to market.
