I have an Resonant Engineering SE 15" (http://www.reaudio.com/specs.html#sp_se) That isn't being used right now. These subs are insane, have had it hooked up in a truck before and it hits really hard. I am contemplating buying a plate amp like this: http://www.oaudio.com/500W_SUBAMP.html

And running it as a home audio sub in a ported enclosure. Is it worth it for me to spend the $300 on the amp or just put that money towards a new sub? I just don't want to put the money into it and be disappointed. What do you think? Anyone ever had an RE hooked up as a home audio sub?

Thanks,
Zac

The RE SE series are great subs. The Qts is a little high for my tastes but it should make a great sub if installed in the correct enclosure.

This question is better suited for the DIY section though.
