Hi,
I am looking to buy a new receiver to work with 2 HD DVRs, 1 Blu-Ray & 1 HD DVD.
Budget is about $500. Any recommendations?
Thanks,

All HDMI??? Sell any hardware or DVD titles in HD DVD and up your budget for an avr
Go to amazon.com and look up harmon kardon recivers. you can get a 7.1 reciver with 3 HDMI input that retails for about $900. and get it for a little over $500.

Onkyo SR705 or the new Yamaha V663
Each has 3 HDMI inputs and one out. Both are extremely nice units for the price

best buy has a silly pioneer elite receiver with 2 hdmi's (i guess your other two can go into your monitor if you have 3) for under 700

I just got a Onkyo 805 refurb direct from Onkyo (www.shoponkyo.com) for $574. You may have to watch the site for a while but that is a STEAL.
You simply aren't going to find a receiver with 4 HDMI inputs at that price range. You could go low and get the Onkyo 605 and an HDMI switch from monoprice. Or you could use the 2/3 HDMI inputs most receivers are going to have and use component and optical for the other cources. You can't really just go directly from the source to the TV because you would be losing out on the audio on the HDMI.
Better yet, you could go to the A/V Receiver Forum and get info from the experts (of which I am not). http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=90
I would go with the Onkyo 705 and an HDMI switch or use component to the TV as the poster above mentioned for one of your sources. I cannot tell a difference between component and HDMI in my setup.
