View Full Version : 1080P Projectors near Fort Wayne, IN?
JohnG316 03-07-08, 04:30 PM Hey all!
I'm getting closer to being able to making the digital plunge. Is there anyone within driving distance of Fort Wayne who would like to show off their system? Auditions needed!!
PJ's I'm considering:
JVC RS-1 and RS-2
Sony VW-60 and VW-40
Epson 1080UB
Sony G70/G90 (still considering CRT)
Mitsubishi 1080P units
I'd also love to see a variety of screens and always love to hear different audio setups.
If you're nearby, give me a shout! Show me what you got!
Thanks!
John

Sony VW-50 (sorry I am going to wait another year or two before next upgrade to video)
Sunfire electronics, Pioneer HD1, Tosh XA2
Aerial Acoustics speakers

JohnG316 03-08-08, 01:23 PM Wow, Cliff, I always wanted to see a G90 stack, and I'm willing to come to Chicago. Probably a Saturday would work best for me, so shoot me a PM, and we can work out the details.
Thanks! Can't wait to see your setup.

When you come up to see Cliff's stack, you are welcome to come by and see my Panasonic AE2000 if you would like to. I'm about 15 minutes away from him.
Let me know.

JohnG316 03-08-08, 05:18 PM Casey,
Sounds great! I've heard the Panny is a very nice projector for the price. I'll certainly let you know, and if the schedules work out, let's have a look.
Thank you so much for the invitation.

Anyone else out there?
John
John,
I live in Fort Wayne also, I am in the process of upgrading my current projector - as an FYI there is a new store at covington plaza that is called YES - your entertainment solution. They have a couple of demo rooms one had a sony 60(i think?) and the other room HAD a mits 5000 - sold the display. They are supposed to get a mits. 4900 and put it in the empty demo room.
Just thought you might want to check them out locally - especially at $3.45 a gallon:rolleyes:
JohnG316 03-12-08, 02:17 PM Great! Thanks!! Being new to Fort Wayne, I wasn't sure about where I could go locally, so that's a good tip. But I do like to meet fellow enthusiasts and see their setups. I have found I can learn a lot from just talking to fellow owners.
When you get your system up and running, we should get together. Once I have mine set up, you're welcome to swing by for lunch and a movie. :)
Are there other enthusiasts in Fort Wayne that you're connected to?
John
John,
Welcome to Ft. Strange!! I am a transplant too, we've been here 15 years. I have not connected with anyone from the forum here locally but there are some - if you check the HD reception thread and go the the ft wayne thread, you'll see there are several that frequent there. It would be great to get together to talk all things electronic. I won't be upgrading for probably the next several months, but If you would like to see our theater room sometime, let me know.
Curt
