Have a new ps3 but can not get to the internet. The system is hardwired to internet and connected. But, to begin, a download much be received; the connection keeps getting 'broken' and it can not get the update needed to get to the internet. I have very good strength (speed) on the internet. Bottom line, it seems, until system gets this update, the internet can not be received.

going to update using PC, and updating the PS3 manually.
