I have a functional G70 that I am going to toss or give it away. The green and blue are toast but still work. I live in Olympia Washington. I won't box or ship, it must be picked up. It's just sitting in the garage gathering dust. PM if your interested, if not, it's going to the dump!

Charles I'm sure someone will be by your place soon but if not, don't put it in the dump (it's actually illegal). They are full of lead and other heavy metals which leach into groundwater. Of no one picks it up at least take it to an electronics recycler, they will even give you a few bucks for it by the pound.

At least contact Curt before you toss it and see if he would like to pick it up the next time he's in town or something. Seems a waste to just toss something like that.

Were I in the area, I would take it and part it out if I couldn't find reasonably priced tubes. The lenses alone are worth trying to sell and I'm pretty certain you could sell most of the boards here or on Ebay. Dumping it is the worst thing you could do.

I've found a home for the G70.

cool, so while your here I have to ask are you still running the RS1? when I saw that machine it was pretty impressive and probably something I could have lived with for a long time?
If so how many hours, any problems, etc?

641 hours and I love it. No problems, great convergence, quite, small, great shadow detail, great focus etc etc. No worries of burn in when I leave it on with static images. I bought it right here at AVS and they are a superior vendor. I'm never lookin' back.

I really didn't want to take the ol' G70 to the dump. I knew if I came here and made such an "outrageous" claim that someone would come and get it, hehe. :D :p :D

"Bruce Can" made it over a few nights ago to pick up the 'ol G70. That's another worthless piece of junk out of my garage. :p We sat down and chewed the fat over a couple of home ground Elk burgers. No fat there actually but we had a great conversation! Bruce really impressed me with his breadth of knowledge, humor, and easy disposition, what a great guy. We then went into the Theater and Bruce helped to make a few improvements on my setup. We had a great time. Thanks Bruce! It was fun!

Did he pick it up in his new car? I went and picked up the retro 9500lc for him in PA and then decided to just buy it and save him the trip here and the cost of taking it back. I paid about 450 bucks in all to go pic it up. But I agree he seems like a great guy I should call him. I have been busy since my road trip to PA and havnt gotten a chance to return his calls. I hope he enjoys the G70.

Yep, he sure did, Just like on "The Blues Brothers", cop tires, cop suspension, cop engine, cop bumpers, cop shocks. :) It looked to be in great shape.
