Strange issue here. I just installed my sub today, and it sounds great with BD and SACD.

However when playing ps3 games or listening to a regular audio cd, there is no bass output from the sub:confused:. I have no idea on why this may be. Can anyone help me??

What kind of receiver have you got it hooked up to? What connection type, HDMI or optical toslink?

What is the receiver saying it's receiving when it's playing SACD vs CD?

It's connected via HDMI to a Denon 4308ci. I have not checked what the AVR says when playing either format. Again, it doesn't output bass to the sub with games either.

Did you run the Audyssey setup? You may have to adjust the bass management in the setup menu and speaker size.

As it turned out, it was an issue with the AVR's settings. Got it figured out, and am still playing with whether I like the sound of the PS3 set to bitstream or LPCM.

The PS3 will not pass the HD audio codecs over bitstream, so you will only get Dolby Digital or DTS when you set it on Bitstream. You need to set it on LPCM if you want Dolby TrueHD. The PS3 will convert it to PCM.

So the question is, do you like the sound of compression ? :P
