Hi all

I have a Panasonic S53 DVD player, and are trying to optimize it with my Panasonic 58" Plasma via HDMI

Some of the setup menu options I do not know what are for, and therefore dont know where to set Can some help please?

Under HDMI menu
- RGB Range? Standard or Ehnanced
- EZ Sync? On or Off?

Under Video Menu
- Time Delay? Betweeen 0 ms and 100ms
- Still Mode? Auto Field or Frame
- TV Aspect: I also have aspect option on the TV, how do they both work together? Should they both be set at the same aspect?

Under Audio
- Dynamic Range? On or Off?

thanks

J

Presumably there is a setting to choose color space: YCrCb or RGB. The RGB range setting matters only when you choose RGB as the color space. "Enhanced" is for computer monitors; A/V gear should use "standard".

thanks wmcclain,

yes indeed I have the option to choose vs. RGB or YCrCb (with two options on the latter)

what is the difference? which should I choose?
thanks

They should produce the same results. You have the choice because sometimes a display is faulty and does not treat the signal correctly on one of the settings. If the picture looks the same with the various choices, then your display is working correctly and it shouldn't matter.

If you want to put in extra effort, get a calibration disc and adjust the display settings for each player output setting. Use whatever looks best to you. Brief notes on calibration discs here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=9889995&&#post9889995
