I've got my Comcast cable box hooked HDMI to a Pioneer TXH94 receiver and then HDMI to my Sony VW-60.

Should 480i content from the cable box be upconverted to 1080 i or p by the receiver or projector?

Standard DVD is upconverted just fine by my PS3 or Tosh HDA1, but I'm wondering why the standard def. cable signal is still shown as 480i/60 on the information screen of the projector.

The VW60 info screen shows what it is receiving. It always upconverts this to 1080P.

I'd let the Sony do the upconverting.
