I just purchased the VW-60 and have about 8 hrs on it.
Here are some things I noticed.
1. When watching HDTV shows, such as CSI on CBS HD or House on Fox HD, I notice some motion judder. Is this the show or the projector? If it's the projector, should I have it on a special setting?
2. I noticed some false contouring during very dark scenes when watching Ghost Whisperer on CBS HD with my wife tonight. Does this projector have a problem with false contouring or was it the show?
3. My local HT store installed the projector. I noticed on letter boxed movies that the bottom portion of the 2:35:1 image isn't perfectly straight. It seems to bow upward towards the middle. Do I need to fix some setting to correct this?
Thanks for your help.

I can help you with question 3, that sounds like you are using alot of lense shift. I have it on my VW60 as I have the projector about 4 inches above top of the screen. I increased the zoom slightly and used the Blanking feature to hide it.
I've noticed some motion judder once or twice while watching some HD content. Wasn't sure whether it was just an abberation or the content itself. Either way, it isn't happening often and I do watch a lot of movies. Not too worried about it.
Can't comment about your other two observations.

I'm not sure exactly how one defines 'false contouring' but my VW60 has exhibited an artifact in very dark scenes on one HD-DVD. The movie in question was 'Perfume' and the artifact was a blue haze, or halo, over one of the character's beard when he was shadowed at night (the maze scene if you have the movie). Oddly, it was only over the beard and not the other dark parts of the image.
I had an RS1 at the time I watched the movie and it did not have the problem. I could also eliminate it by switching from Auto Iris 1 to Manual, and by going from my tweaked Cinema setting to one of the other settings.
I've not seen it on any other film, although I sometimes feel like the projector is on the verge of it in really dark scenes.
It's much less annoying than DLP dithering.

Irish...What is the blanking feature?

Irish...What is the blanking feature?
It's under the installation menu, (spanner icon).
Edit, I think in the US you call a spanner a wrench:)
My VW60 has a slight pincushion as well, I usually just zoom the image a little to hide it in the screen mask.

Is the motion judder I am noticing due to the projector or the content?
I am noticing a significant amount of lip synching problems as well- is that due to the projector?

Lip sync would be due to the source or the prepro/receiver.
I just got my VW60 mounted last night, and I also notice some slight pincushioning at the bottom of the image (bows upward in the middle). I can't say for sure whether it's the projector or my crummy, wavy-as-hell pull-down screen (I suspect it's a little of both) causing the issue. Zooming and adjusting lens shift does seem to affect it, but I can't seem to completely eliminate it. Nature of the beast? If I remember correctly, my old VPL-HS10 had the same issue but to a lesser extent, which points to the screen as being part of the culprit.
