Hi
I bought a G90 from oliverg about a month ago, the NVRAM had been replaced and the serial # was gone and the Hr counters were zero.
Its a bit hard buying something second hand and history is lost.
The unit was sold to oliver and the tubes had less than 300 Hrs.
Anyway he gave me the old NVRAM, so I copied it at work and loaded it to another new NVRAM.
Well today after finishing JohnHWman's fan mod, and refitting the red crt which had a blemish on the c element.
I fired it up, its on a trolley (cart) on the floor.
I now have my serial # and Hour counters back.:)
See attachments.

Great stuff. I guess the old NRAM chip was uncorrupted and still had some power in the battery allowing it to be copied.

Do you now basically have a full copy of the old chip in your new NRAM chip in your G90 or did you just copy over the hours and serial number areas?

Any difficulties in replacing and/or copying the NRAM chip from the projector?

Hi Frank
I now have a full copy of the original.
I basically wanted the serial# and hrs counter.
As I will be doing the green c element change as soon as I get a supply of glycol, the numbers for setup are going to change.

Frank no problems copying from the old NVRAM. (DS1245Y-120)
Bought a new one online for $20 US from Futurlec.com
Took 3 days to get to Australia and cost another $26 delivery fee.
That was better than Farnell who wanted $104 AU, another $12 delivery.

With prices like that they should change the name to Farkenell. :D
