Regarding our constant wondering about if the mini remains viably supported:
My activities provide an interface to some of the Resort developers (including Cruise Lines and other) and recently I've run across some interesting data points. More than a couple are putting Mac Minis in high end Resorts and I know one Cruise Line adding them to each room for guest use. Just doesn't strike me that corporate sale of this nature would happen for a dead end product.

Further, some speculative that the Mini will receive Penryn and new graphics chip (GMA X3100)...

Some good news data points for those wondering about it... So I thought I would pass along...

I still think that the Mini is being used to dispose of last year's parts, mostly. So, in that regard, it will take a bit longer for Penryn to show up. Then again, maybe SJ has something else in mind for it.

My current thought, is with the release of the iPhone SDK, and the glee all of the game developers showed, that maybe that was the beginning of the resurgence of gaming on the Mac. And what better way to take on the Wii, the PS3, and the Xbox than to plop a Blu-ray into a Mini, pair it with iPod Touch-like handheld device, hook it up to a gaming backend web-site, and go to town?!!!

Normally, I'd think the next mini update would just be a previous MacBook chipset. However, Intel is aggressively pushing out Penryn and phasing out the older chips. Apple may just have to upgrade the mini to a Penryn platform.
