Only best bet is to get a STB that has a firewire port that can be used to compressed video or use a standard TV tuner card that has a QAM/ATSC tner(though both of these options won't allow you to record in HD, only SD) bugmenot55 03-09-08, 01:01 AM Here's the cheapest HDMI capturd card I found http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ The Blackmagic Itensity at $349 is alot cheaper than all the other HD input capture cards out there, but again, unless your runnning a dual RAID 500GB system with a firegl/quadro graphics card... Remember, uncompressed hd from an hdmi port is about 123mbits/second. Its roughly 1 gig/byte a minute. around 58Gigs an hour bugmenot55 03-09-08, 03:45 AM Anoter solution which is alot cheaper is to buy one of those PC's with Windows Visa Media Center that support CableCard TV tuners. I don't know if the satellite providers offer CableCards though |
