I am trying to send a native resolution signal to my philips plasma with a RadianceXD.

The XD sends out what I believe are standard 1024*768 VESA timings, but these do not work.

Anybody with a video processor/powerstrip managed to get 1024*768 resolution into a LCD or plasma - if so please share the timings :)

Thanks.

I have a Sony 42" XBR plasma and had to lower the framerate to 58.38 in order for the standard XGA timings to work on my VP50 processor but maybe these will work as-is for you. The numbers in parentheses are alternatives in case you need more blanking i.e. try 1024 with all of the parenthetical numbers if the first ones don't work. The vertical numbers are identical.

Horiz 1024
Front 50 (24)
HSync 50 (136)
Back 60 (160)

Vertical 768
Front 4
VSync 4
Back 12

Almost every display out there that I've tested had problems with NR on 1024x768..

At best, timing is a bit off (e.g., my Pioneer MXE10) at worst, you're stuck with completely irregular timing, or no NR support at all.

The Radiance XD is supposed to get custom timing quite soon, so once that happens, you'll be able to play around with timing and figure out if your display even supports NR...

If not, use 720P or upscale to a higher res that your display can live comfortably with.

The XD already has the custom timings, but it's not an interface like powerstrip where you can try stuff in real time - at least not yet. So I'm asking around to see what works for people.

Btw, the above didn't work for me. I was able once to send a NR signal to the TV via htpc/powerstrip. Unfortunately I didn't write down the timing values, and physically setting it up is a pain. Looks like I will have to do it anyway. :(

The Radiance now has a custom timing menu with a button that allows you to test the new timing.

I used to have this little red book of NR frequencies, but since everyone moved to standard 1080P, I hardly need it anymore. Lookikng for it now, I seem to have misplaced it. It had quite a few NR timings for 1024X768. Best I can do is offer you some VESA timings if you want...

I've already tried all the timings I could find on the web, including VESA timings. If you do find the book, let me know :)
