Are there any upscaling DVD players that will play 1280p DivX files and or H264 files?

ETA: I have an LG DN191H, which plays 720p DivX, but not 1280p.

Checking the boxed for HD divx and h264 shows 3 Gowell players and no reviews:

An HTPC would be the most flexible option.

Argh... I think I'm giving up on a DVD player to do this.

I'm experimenting with a PS3 now. It can do 720p, but it won't seem to do 1080p. Am I just doomed to a HTPC? Much more money, and I'm wondering about the interface.
