What's the required distance between cable amplifiers out on the field ?
I can see 5 of them from my balcony,2 very large ones & 3 small ones.
My signal not all that great tried to get the cable guy to feed my bldg
from a pole more close just few feet away.He says no tap is there but
the big thick cable is joined right there so a tap can be put in i said.HE
said will call someone with the bucket truck to turn up the amps.
Currenty it takes a 200 ft run before the wire enters. Along the way it's
split into a box to feed the other side of my bldg, then comes over to my
side where it go's into another box and split before entering the units.
With all these amps in the general area why does the signal stinks .

Those boxes may not necessarily be amps. The enclosures are similar among all plant equipment and your observation of an enclosure on a pole still doesnt give any indication as to what might be inside it. In addition, cable plant is engineered very specifically with taps descending in in numerical value from highest to lowest. Splicing in a random tap interrupts that flow and the whole design would have to be reengineered to allow for a new tap.

Your company will likely not modify the plant to your desires but they can and will usually modify the premises if there is a legitimate issue with quality of service. Call them out for a service call and they can and will add premis amps or direct lines to rectify if there is in fact a problem.

The boxes i see are just like this one, but they don't care about signal
quality just getting ready to stuff digital down consumers throat.
