Is there an alternative for psp memory stick pro duos ?

I have a cannon camera and was able to get a 16 gig sd card for $60 bucks . An 8 gig mspd costs $90 every whre I look .

I saw a device that would allow you to use micro sd cards instead of the memory stick pro duos but the one store has it as preorder with a release date of 2007 .

Micro sd would cost about 20-30 per 4 gigs of data which could get me 8 gigs ofr 40-60 bucks which is alot cheaper than an 8 gig or even 2 4 gig memory sticks .

Anyone have this device or knows where to buy it or any other alternative ?

MSPD is sonys proprietary memory stick, I dont think we'll see something allowing a converter anytime soon. Im just waiting for SONY to announce that they are going to allow PS3 harddrive space to be accessed by the psp to allow for saves and transfers.

i've seen the device and i know its for sale in europe . I just haven't found a place with it in stock to order from. I'm at work now but will get u a link when i can. Its basicly a memory stick pro duo card with a slot to put a micro sd card in it. Its selling for like $40 bucks. So when you add up the cost of that and 8 gigs of sd micro cards it works out to the same as an 8 gig memory stick. However I doubt i will need only 8 gigs and in the future sd micro 8 gig cards will be very cheap also. I believe they are around 45-50 bucks . I believe there is also one where that hardrive would hook up to the psp that uses any CF or SD card . even at $50 bucks that would allow me to get 8 gig sticks (i believe its limited to that ) for $30 bucks or so .

That would be great as I spent over 2 hrs yesterday trying to get my sons psp firmware updated to 3.8 so he could play the GOW demo..still didnt get it done. I dont know why you cant hook the psp up to the ps3, d/l the update to the ps3, transfer it to the psp and be done...seems simple enough

Yeah what he said about the MSPD... But there is a 4 gig HDD out for the psp. With built in battery it makes the PSP even bigger, but what can you do.

I've seen these at Best Buy a while ago, i dont think they sold well. But you (OP)might be able to find them online (ebay or what not for cheaper)
