After 5200+ hours on my bulb, I replaced it this weekend. Did a new calibration and...MAN...I love my HD70 projector!!!

It took about 30 minutes total time. The biggest time was aligning the PJ to the screen again, because in order to get to the bulb I had to remove the mounting bracket.

Now I am off to see if I can get a replacement bulb via my warranty from CC.

Congrats! That's a lot of hours on one bulb. I have the HD70 for 1.5 year with 480 hrs on the bulb. At this rate, and assuming my bulb will last as long as yours did, it will be replaced in about 10 years. Will the bulb be available then? I think it will be cheaper to buy a 1080P projector.

Wow thats alot of hours! How did you treat the bulb? Did you turn on the pj and leave it on all day, or did you turn it on for a few hours each day?

Thats not very many hours, I've had my HD70 for just a few months and have around 400 hours. How often do you use that thing.

I use my HD70 just about everyday. In my house the PJ is in the living room and is the primary TV. So, it on when the kid gets up around 8am and goes off when I go to bed around 10pm.

And if it's a holiday, we have so people around it's on around the clock. I think this past Christmas it was on for 2+ days straight.

8 hours a day, seven days a week will give you about 250 hours a month.

12 hours a day, seven days a week would give you the 5200 hours in a little over a year.

8 hours a week gives you about 400 hours a year.

Just wanted to chime in and say.... The HD70 is truly a remarkable projector.

Everytime I turn mines on, I feel like I have "arrived". Congrats on such long bulb life!!!

And to think, I replaced my first lamp after 2100hrs.... although it was still very good and bright. LOL.... I boxed it up and tucked it away for a rainy day. I only have 677 on the new bulb and lemme tell you... I use my projector almost everyday for extended periods of time.

Projector life is grand!

I've had my HD70 for 17 months and I've got almost 1500 hours on it. As Tattootearz said: The HD70 is truly a remarkable projector. Everytime I turn mine on, I feel like I have "arrived". Projector life is grand!"

Seconded. It is a great way to watch films. I had an Infocus X1 for 3 years before this HD70. The X1 was fun, and the HD70 is exponentially better. :D
