This seems to happen about 20% of the time and I have been unable to diagnose the problem. I get a total lockup of the system, sixaxis doesn't work, even the PS button when an online game ends and it goes to the restart screen. It seems to lockup when the clock hits 26 seconds though I believe once it was 24 seconds. I've tried putting the controller down (not scrolling through the stat menus) and thought that seemed to help but no, it sill locked once or twice. I have to manually hit the power button and shut down and then turn it back on and start again. It sucks.
My thoughts are: wireless connection issue being the main culprit but I really don't know. I do not have the option to connect by cat5. I've considered getting one of those broadband over powerline systems but my performance has been fairly lag free in the games, consistant PING of about 110, often the best besides the host on a given server.
Anyone else having this issue, know of the cause or the solution?
Thanks.

Try deleting Warhawk from your hard drive and then reinstalling it - you won't lose your stats because they are kept by Incog

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Where should I delete it from? I have the game on disc, not downloaded from the network store....

It's in game data...
I have the same problem... right down to the 26 second mark. I tried to research the issue and it seems that this was a problem some time ago. I haven't found any recent posts about it other than this. I never had the problem until I went wireless. I've pretty much stopped playing because of it. Some people advocate putting the PS3 on a static IP or putting it in the DMZ. I can't figure out how to do it on my wireless router though. I'm also worried that by putting the PS3 in the DMZ and having my media sharing on, that I might be opening up my network for attack... but I don't know. I've even thought of getting a new router to see if it handles it better. I have an old B wireless I got for free. Out of curiosity, what router do you have?
Interesting that we're both in Columbus. I'm on RR through Insight in Westerville. Where are you and what provider?

I'm using a Netger WGT624 v.3
Realtively cheap but I have some problems where I have to unplug it because all wireless devices loose contact (about once a week)
I have none of th problems you have described but I have heard that deleting the data and reinstalking from the disc can help most issues

I'm in Hilliard on Time Warner RR. I connect wirelessly via a D-link DI-614+ 802.11 b router.
I lose my connection to the PS network everyonce in a while. This seems more persistant than in any other instance and would not bother me so much if it did not require a reboot. I play TF2 from the orange box and I will get the occassional network connection lost message and have to log back in. I can accept that as part of the cost of using wireless, especially with the router being on another floor in the house. The total freeze is a pain.
I'm a networking novice (had it open to the public for quite some time until a friend helped me password protect it), but, as I said, I have very few performance complaints. I have a decent ping, little lag, downloads from the store are quick, steaming video/audio/pictures via TVersity works really well. This is just a strange one. I can't check other more gaming oriented sites here at work so I figured I would start here. Saturday night with the big snow here in Columbus I played Warhawk for about 7 straight ours and had to reboot about 4 times. It had happened before but this was when I noticed the trend with the end of a game and the 26 seconds on the clock.
I'll delete the Warhawk file from the game data folder (thanks reefbone) and reinstall to see if that helps.

I've had this issue quite a few times, not using wireless though and don't remember the 26 second thing. I was going to pick up the flag one time and a tow came in and blew me up and it froze right there. Not the only time, but memorable.
