i already have a xbox 360, but will be adding a ps3 since their game catalogue is expanding. This will be used for games only. I plan to order the mgs4 bundle as it appears to be a good offer (499) anyone know of better deals ?. My processor is an Intergra 9.8 so as far as I can see all I need to do is connect a HDMI cable and plug in the power cord and I'm good to go is this correct ?. Excluding ebay what other vendors are best to deal with ?. Any info appreciated ...thanks

Costco has hassle free returns should something ever happen. I wouldn't do anything on ebay.

I agree ebay is a bit risky it's not like you can save $200 on a new console. As for costco they might carry the mgs4 bundle in store when it's released maybe even lower than 499
thanks for info

I really doubt that costco will carry it lower than $499. If that did then it would be a first for any of their consoles. What is likely to happen at costco is that they will offer the MGS4 bundle for $459.99 and it will include an extra Dualshock3 and a Bluetooth remote. This way you save about $15.

What makes you think costco will add hardware to the system and increase the price?. Have they done this in the past?. Not that you are wrong just wondering as to your reasoning..thanks

I got mine from buy.com with a 5% off coupon, no tax, and free shipping, was $384.

That's a 40g right, I was looking at buying the mgs4 bundle as separates but the bundle price is a little better especially factoring in the shipping ....

Yes, it is how they have done it in the past and continue to do it. Have a look at the current PS3 online bundle:

40GB Bundle with Spiderman 3, Ratchet & Clank, extra Sixaxis, Blu-ray remote for $514.99.

You are paying $115 for R&C, extra controller, and Blu-ray remote.

The Xbox 360 bundles are the same way where they typically have the console, a game, controller and play-n-charge kit for about $20 less than buying all those at full retail price.

I remember when I bought my 60gb, I got it from Wal-mart. I paid $499.99 for the console, Resistance(I chose this game over the others) and a blu-ray remote. That was the bundle they where offering. Give them a look.

Also to consider is tax. Living in CA I might avoid state tax by purchasing from a vendor based outside CA but then there's the shipping and insurance.
